eSett has started a project to replace the current SOAP-based Information Service with the modern “eSett API” by 2027. This change is based on customer feedback and aims to provide a more efficient way to access and use customer data.
More about the project:
Why?
eSett has received a lot of feedback from market parties over the years. In the evolving technology landscape, we have recognized an opportunity to rethink the way we offer data to our customers and empower them to use their data more efficiently.
In 2024 we conducted surveys and interviews with stakeholders to better understand their needs and their perspectives on data usage.
As a result of our collaboration with stakeholders and partners, we have developed a feasible and flexible way to publish our APIs in the future.
How?
Relying on the standard OpenAPI specification and RESTful APIs, we aim to give more control to market parties over the way they retrieve their data.
While this will not replace our core messaging, data flows, and data packages, it is intended to replace the existing Information Service.
When?
Phase 1 (2024)
The first phase will involve the creation of a comprehensive design that outlines the API’s architecture and integrations with our systems.
Phase 2 (2025)
During the second phase, we will develop the core components of the API and conduct rigorous testing to ensure its functionality and performance. This phase will also include the development of documentation and user guides to support the implementation process.
Phase 3 (2026-2027)
In this phase, we will launch the API for our customers. Initially, it will include data currently available through the Information Service but delivered in a more robust way to support integration efforts. We’ll provide support to ensure a smooth transition and help address any issues that arise. This phase will also involve monitoring and maintenance to ensure the API continues to perform reliably.
We’ll work closely with our customers during this phase to gather feedback, make improvements, and plan for any additional data needs going forward.
At that time, the Information Service will be phased out.
