Changes in FCR-N energy invoicing in Finland from 10.2.2025

Fingrid has decided to move energy invoicing for the FCR-N market to Balancing Service Providers (BSPs) starting from 10.2.2025. This change is based on the renewed market agreement on Frequency Containment Reserves. With this adjustment, eSett will pay out or invoice energy fees directly to/from BSPs instead of Balance Responsible Parties (BRPs). For more details, visit Fingrid’s website: FCR products.

To participate in the FCR-N market from 10.2.2025, market participants must:

  1. Sign the required agreements:
    • The market agreement with Fingrid.
    • The Imbalance Settlement Agreement (for BRPs) or the Balancing Service Settlement Agreement (for BSPs).
  2. Set up a cash account:
    • Enter into a Cash Account Agreement with an eSett-approved settlement bank.
