The four Nordic Transmission System Operators (TSOs) have jointly decided to postpone the launch of the automated Nordic mFRR energy activation market (mFRR EAM) to early 2025.

The new automated balancing process requires more time for safe and effective implementation. As a result, the originally scheduled go-live on December 3rd will no longer take place. The Nordic Balancing Model (NBM) program now targets late January as a potential go-live date, with expectations that this adjustment will not impact the planned introduction of the 15-minute market time unit. A new confirmed go-live date is expected to be announced in early November.
